On the 25th of March at approximately 19:40, ROCKET 5 was activated on a primary mission to the Krugersdorp Area for a pedestrian vehicle accident. On arrival flight paramedics assessed a young male patient suffering from a traumatic brain injury as well as severe chest trauma. Flight paramedics initiated advanced airway management and stabilised him on scene together with ground support services, before airlifting the patient to a specialised facility in Johannesburg for further treatment and care.
On the 27th March, we activated for:
ROCKET 1 on an inter-facility transfer of a young female patient requiring urgent specialised treatment and care at a facility in Kimberley.
ROCKET 6 on a primary mission to the Postmasburg Area for an elderly male patient that had sustained a trauma related injury. Flight paramedics stabilised the patient on scene before airlifting him to a specialised facility in Kimberley for treatment and ongoing care.
ROCKET 1 on an inter-facility transfer of a male patient from Kathu, requiring urgent surgical intervention at a specialised facility in Bloemfontein.
