In the course of the week,
ROCKET 7 was activated on an inter-facility transfer to Alberton for a patient presenting with an abdominal aortic aneurysm requiring urgent surgical intervention. The patient was airlifted to a specialised facility in Johannesburg for further care.
ROCKET 5 was activated to Pretoria on an urgent inter-facility transfer of a patient that had sustained trauma related injuries whilst on duty. The patient was airlifted to a facility in Johannesburg for specialised treatment and care.
ROCKET 1 was activated to Vryburg on an inter-facility transfer of a patient requiring specialised cardiac care en-route to a facility in Klerksdorp for further diagnostics and treatment.
ROCKET 6 was activated on an inter-facility neonatal transfer from Kimberley to a hospital in Bloemfontein. Monitoring of the baby was carried out en-route using specialised neonatal equipment, such as an incubator which provided a safe environment and regulated the baby's temperature.
